To be honest, we just didn't want to drive into Chicago anymore for premium artisan spirits and cocktails. Our goal was to make the drinks we wanted to drink, no matter the cost or difficulty to prepare. At Social we make fresh juices and use small batch bitters, grenadine from pomegranate juice (not high fructose corn syrup and red dye # whatever), all fresh herbs and spices, and our own signature syrups and mixers. This was not an easy task at first, but we got the hang of it.
We also searched out the best spirits for our cocktails, because no matter how good a bartender is, he is only as good as his product. As with our food, we just have fun with it and don't take it too seriously.
